Enigma

Whoever exposed the stars
and clouds behind a river
tagged moon along from
the previous night when country
was relocated by mountain’s
doors, excavating with dirt
every missed step, reminiscing
a solo in the star track.

We are seen with what is real
and surreal, rescinding with an eagle’s eye
or swimming nearby a jellylike kingdom
when it is impossible to eat
only the jellyfish and drink
seawater. A parachute, a neon light
closes the disquiet. Someone
is taken up to the mountain,

now the eagle is blind. From the stare
of this eagle, could that be the limit of sky?
